About This Video
My home, the cemetery where my husband is buried and everything I have is threatened by mountaintop removal (the most destructive form of coal extraction).
In the summer of 2007 Massey Energy applied for a mountaintop removal permit on Coal River Mountain. That permit was approved and we have had them held up in litigation until the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals released their decision on 404 permits. The 404 permits are issued by the Army Corps of Engineers and the decision was handed down in favor of the coal industry on Feb. 13, 2009.

1. Your are in the state of coal
The representive for many of the coal companies is on this site, and that makes me proud that a actual WV citezen is standing up to him and big business, and showing it to the be loser, backwards minding thing it really is. I'm from Florida, and I essentially buy energy for up that way, and it's on the cheap. Not even the miners get anything lasting out of deal, because not only do you pay jack squat for your coal power , I pay pennies. That mountain behind your place, is obviously not worth my pennies, it's your livelyhood and your everything. I'll try to keep my lights off for you,and do all that I can with the monatary resources I have. Good luck and band together, and get smart like our fellow peoples in the foriegn lands, by simpley showing big business whose really boss around here.
