Kristen Seturins is a Communications major, and she is graduating from Roger Williams University as a member of the class of 2009. She was born and raised in Bethel, Connecticut. Her interest in journalism began during her junior year at Bethel High School. Her love for writing lead her not only to a major in Journalism, but also to a minor in Creative Writing.
Since she was six years old, her passion has always been horseback riding; at RWU, she is on the Varsity Equestrian Team. She has owned a horse for nine years now, and has competed at local shows since she was seven. She also has a great love for animals, sports, driving, listening to music, photography, sketching, and graphic design.
During her time at RWU, she has developed a great interest for both publishing and video production. She is currently the Assistant Layout & Design Editor of roger, an art & literary magazine, as well as the producer of “The Feed”, a weekly video news program that showcases issues and events happening on campus. It was “The Feed” that lead her to Planet Forward, where she became more comfortable with using a camera, as well as learning new ways to successfully produce.
Her experience with Planet Forward has given her not only the tools to become more familiar with digital media, but the gratification of knowing that it’s possible for ten people to be thrown together in a room, and in just three weeks, do what Planet Forward - RWU has accomplished.
